Jacksonville Foursquare Gospel Church is a part of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. "The vision of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel (ICFG) is to present Jesus Christ, God's Son, to every person in every culture and nation as The Savior, The Baptizer with the Holy Spirit, The Healer, and The Soon-Coming King. Since its founding, in 1923 by Aimee Semple McPherson, that vision has been realized through evangelizing the lost and establishing local congregations in the United States and abroad, through the nurturing and training of believers into leadership on all levels of Church life, and in cooperation with other members of the Body of Christ at large in the fellowship of the Gospel and the fulfillment of the Biblical mandate to be "light" and "salt" on the earth." The heart of the Foursquare Gospel is found in the four-fold ministry of Jesus Christ. |

Jesus Christ our Savior - John 3:16 tells us that God has such a great love for man that he sent his one and only son to die upon a cross to satisfy the death sentence of sin upon us. Without his blood being shed at Calvary man is totally lost and without hope. Paul wrote that "Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12). Jesus Himself declared in John 14:6, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." When a person makes the decision to accept and follow Jesus, they begin a life long journey of healing, restoration, and being set free to live a life of worship toward God. In John 10:10 Jesus declares, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they might have life and have it to the full." |

Jesus Christ the Great Physician - Jesus' earthly ministry was punctuated with signs and wonders. And when He ascended to the right hand of the Father, He left a group of disciples behind with the instructions to continue doing what He had been doing. In fact, the gospel of Mark tells us that signs and wonders will follow any work done in His name. "And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well." (Mark 16:17-18) |

Jesus Christ, the Baptizer with the Holy Spirit - When Jesus had instructed His disciples to continue the good works He had been doing, He knew that they would need divine assistance to do so. He told them to wait until they had been clothed with power from on high. He promised to send them the Holy Spirit. "I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high." (Luke 24:49) "But you will recieve power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." (Acts 1:8) We live and minister in the power of the Holy Spirit. |

Jesus Christ, the Soon-Coming King - Jesus promised that if He left, He would return. "Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house there are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am." (John 14:1-3) He is coming back to receive unto Himself all that would believe on His name so that we will be with Him forever. "For the Lord Himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the d ead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever." (1 Thess. 4:16-17) |
